Objetivos

El objetivo principal de CERBEA es el desarrollo de un marco global de economía circular para la reutilización de las baterías de ión-litio desechadas. Esto se conseguirá a través de los siguientes objetivos específicos:


OBJECTIVEAPPROACH
Develop industrialized process for Li-ion battery testing and qualification for repurposeProprietary software and hardware development for the processing of the recovered batteries. It will be necessary to design a specialized hardware device to check the health status of each of the recovered 18650 cells. This electronic device will run artificial intelligence processes responsible for estimating the remaining life level for each battery.
Design battery recovery and reuse stationsDesign a fixed infrastructure where citizens can deposit their batteries conveniently and nearby. Alternatively, a mobile infrastructure will be designed to facilitate collection at homes and companies to facilitate and encourage recycling.
Design and manufacture electric energy accumulators unitsDevelop and integrate software and hardware components of acumulators. The necessary mechanisms will be designed (cell distribution, BMS battery management systems, encapsulation, etc…) for the construction of functional and efficient acumulators units that can be deployed on domestic and industrial electrical installations. The necessary quality and safety control mechanisms will also be implemented.
Pilot demonstrationDemonstration of CERBEA framework functionality in at least 1 European city. The city of Salamanca, Spain has expressed interest and is a project partner strongly motivated to find a solution to their discarded battery problem. The final solution can be implemented in any European city.
Develop effective community campaign to raise battery recycling awareness and the reward systemA communication policy should be designed using advertising campaigns, social networks, etc. to encourage citizens and companies to recycle their lithium batteries and not deposit them in garbage containers. A system based on BlockChain and Smart Contracts will be designed to generate rewards based on the number and quality of batteries delivered.
